What kitchen fitting includes
- Assembling the carcasses of base units, wall units and tall units.
- Levelling the base units with the adjustable legs.
- Fixing the wall units to the wall with suitable anchors.
- Fitting doors, drawers, handles, shelves and plinths.
- Final adjustment of hinges and drawers so everything closes in line.
- Fitting laminate or wooden worktops already cut to size.
What is not part of the fitting
A kitchen involves several trades and it is important to keep them separate:
- Gas: gas hobs and water heaters must be connected by a certified gas fitter.
- Electrics: moving sockets or adding new circuits is a job for an electrician.
- Plumbing: moving water supplies or drains is plumbing work.
- Stone or compact worktops: these are measured, cut and fitted by a stonemason.
- Building work: tiling, removing walls or replacing the floor is a renovation.

How much does kitchen fitting cost?
It depends on the number of units, tall housings for appliances, the type of wall and whether the old kitchen needs removing. A small apartment kitchen and a kitchen with an island are very different jobs, so we price it with your project in front of us. Our prices page shows the factors we take into account.

We fit kitchens bought from large retailers, local kitchen shops or online. If the shop offers its own fitting service, compare what each option includes. For full kitchen renovations with building work, it's best to use a renovation company; we can take care of the unit assembly.

Do you install the cooker hood and appliances?
We can fit the cooker hood and integrated appliances and connect them to existing sockets and water points. If sockets or water supplies need moving, you will need an electrician or plumber. More in small home repairs.
Do you remove the old kitchen?
We can dismantle the old units. Removing tiles, built-in worktops or services is part of a renovation rather than a fitting.
Do you cut the worktop?
Laminate or wooden worktops can be adjusted on site if the job allows. Natural stone, quartz or porcelain worktops need a stonemason with specialist machinery.
How long does it take to fit a kitchen?
It depends on the size and on the units arriving complete. A small kitchen can be ready in one or two days; a large one takes longer. We tell you in the quote.
